Hi and welcome to my blog!

This is where you can view my current projects and get to
know me better.

I am a Southern California photographer who grew up in
Atlanta, but calls Washington, DC home. I love capturing the little moments in
life – whether it’s a new addition, a tender look, a family hug, or a sparkling
ring.

Please read on and enjoy the little moments that have become
big memories for me. Feel free to leave comments and if you have questions
about booking or if you just want to say hi, click on contact and I will be in
touch shortly. Feel free to leave some blog love with a comment too.  Can’t wait to hear from you!

study hall live on [b] school.

b schooli belong to a wonderful photography forum called the [b] school through which i have met a ton of fantastic photographers from all across the world. yes. i said world! every thursday, [b] (aka becker) – the founder of [b] school hosts a live, on-line study hall with a guest. normally he has experts in the photo industry or their respective areas come on and chat about what they know and give advice to everyone.

well…this thursday, his guest will be….wait for it….ME! i know, i know….you are thinking the only thing i’m an expert in is chocolate chip cookies, so what could i possibly talk about – photography related – for an hour? well, this time around, he asked for someone new to the industry to come on and go through a mentoring chat with him while everyone watches. it’s bad enough one on one, but now everyone can watch too! ARGH! so…be sure to tune in on Thursday – August 19th at 4PM PST. i’ll be nervously laughing and waving at the camera and you can ask questions live via the chat room or twitter. now i have to go get ready for my close-up! Ha!

August 16, 2010 - 9:05 am Melissa Brandman - YAY!!! What a great experience for you - I will be tuning in and tweeting you words of encouragement!

August 16, 2010 - 9:45 am Alyson - Thanks! I will need it!

August 16, 2010 - 10:08 am larry reeves - wow, that's so awesome! I look forward to it!

August 16, 2010 - 10:08 am Alyson - Thanks, Larry! I will try to represent well.

August 16, 2010 - 10:09 am Patrick Farrington - And to think I can say "I knew you when..." I hope I can get home from work in time to watch. You'll do great.

August 16, 2010 - 1:06 pm Alyson - HA. Yes, but you better not sell any stories to the Enquirer or something!

August 16, 2010 - 2:57 pm Jo-Anne Kyle - Does this mean there won't be a TWKT this week? :) I'll be waving back (and jumping up and down with excitement to see you again) even if you can't see me.

August 17, 2010 - 8:46 am Alyson - Of course there is a twkt! I can't promise it will be good, but it will be up...even though I have to leave early to get my hair done. HA!!

August 18, 2010 - 10:21 am Jen Johnson - SO excited for you! What a great opportunity! Was just chatting with Melissa last night and discussed a lunch date sometime soon! Hope you're doing well! XOXO!

August 22, 2010 - 9:33 am Amber Fox - Alyson! Thanks so much for asking such great questions. I have all the same questions too. You did a great job and I really hope you can take away a lot from that little mentoring session with Becker!

raggedy ann. twkt.

this was my favorite necklace when i was little. i loooooved raggedy ann. shockingly, i discovered that JC has no idea who raggedy ann and andy are (were?), so if you too are wondering, here’s a link for a little history. i still have the necklace. it makes me smile. i recall that some years ago i thought it would be fun to wear…only problem is that there is no clasp and i was too embarrassed to take it to get fixed.

August 12, 2010 - 3:58 pm Meg Fligg - too sweet. I will get it fixed for you :)

shake it like a…twkt.

yup. i have a polaroid camera…which on the spectrum of things we have kept doesn’t seem too terrible. it has actually been used often. the problem is that polaroid doesn’t make the film for it anymore, basically rendering it completely useless and worthy of the trash. i guess i am holding onto the hope that lady gaga will tell them they need to bring it back because it is retro and cool…?

August 5, 2010 - 6:01 pm Patrick Farrington - Polaroid doesn't make the film any more but The Impossible Project has stepped up http://shop.the-impossible-project.com/shop/film/600

August 5, 2010 - 8:20 pm Alyson - Get out! I am so glad you told me...I am going right now to look........... Rats. They are out of stock. I will keep checking. That's awesome!

August 9, 2010 - 9:31 pm Jo-Anne Kyle - I love that color! Good luck finding the film.
